What we collect

The app creates a random installation identifier so saved places can be backed up and basic app reliability can be measured. We may collect feature interactions, app platform and version, and technical error details. We do not use this information to sell personal profiles.

Location

Location access is optional and requested only when you open Near Me. Your coordinates are used to calculate nearby recommendations. The app does not store a history of your location in the NYC Date Nights venue database.

Saved places

Places you save remain stored on your device without requiring an account. You may optionally create an account using email, Google, or Apple to back up and sync Saved Nights across devices. Account authentication is provided by Clerk; NYC Date Nights continues to store the Saved Nights associated with your account.

Subscriptions

Paid features are purchased through Apple. To confirm access, the app sends Apple's transaction identifier and a random app account token to the NYC Date Nights server. We store the product, subscription expiration, transaction identifiers, app account token, and verification time. Payment details are handled by Apple and are not stored by NYC Date Nights.

Shared itineraries

If you use Plan Together Live, we store the itinerary name, its stops and order, member roles, invitation expiration, and shared check-in activity so invited devices can stay synchronized. Invitation tokens are stored as one-way hashes. Members of that shared itinerary can see its places, edits, and check-in state. The host can delete the shared itinerary, and an invited member can leave it.

Instagram and venue content

The app displays NYC Date Nights content and links to original Reel pages. Venue facts are reviewed before becoming eligible for planner recommendations.

Retention and deletion

Operational interaction events are retained for up to 90 days, and error reports are retained for up to 180 days. You can clear saved places in the app. If you create an account, you can request deletion of the account and its associated Saved Nights from within the app. Shared itineraries remain until the host deletes them; expired invitation records may be removed automatically. You may also request deletion of installation data through support.
